Thick-Leaved Oak (Cyclobalanopsis edithiae)
Thick-Leaved Oak provides excellent timber for construction. Its seed contains starch, which is edible after being grilled. It is an important source of nutrients for wild animals. A hundred years ago, the Hong Kong botanist C. Ford found Thick-Leaved Oak in Ta Tit Yin, near Kam On Garden and published it as a new species.
